Reinventing Education

EZ Vidya partners with IBM in the Reinventing Education (RE) programme. RE is a initiative that aims at improving and enhancing the quality of schooling through continuous, ongoing professional development of teachers and class room transformation with ICT integration in Government schools across India. EZ Vidya strategises and trains teachers in the state of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu for this programme.

• Enable government schools to develop an innovative model of teachers’ professional development to meet 21st century skills
• Eenable professional development of teachers to improve teaching learning practices through intense training, discussions and classroom participations
• Explore innovative teaching and learning approaches that integrate ICT and enhance student participation
• Encourage teachers to play a leadership role in their own schools and share experiences

Target Segments

EZ Vidya has helped in the continuous professional development of 80 teachers and 20 principals across 20 schools in Andhra Pradesh and Chennai. The project has achieved tremendous results in a short span of six months.

Digital Equalizer (DE) programme

The Digital Equalizer (DE) programme undertaken by American Indian Foundation (AIF) aims at introducing the use of technology to engage, educate, enrich and empower India’s under-served children in the Government schools. In Tamil Nadu EZ Vidya partners AIF to make this dream a reality.

Key features

EZ Vidya plays the role of a strategic partner in the DE programme with the aim of bringing a positive social change in government schools in India by

• Empowering the team of AIF coordinators on Techno pedagogy for them in turn to train the school teachers on enhancing technology usage in schools
• Providing Advocacy documents for constant improvisation of the process
• Monitoring the progress of the programme by collecting feedback from beneficiaries
• Focusing on integrating technology into the classroom through Project Based Learning (PBL) methodology

Target Segments

• 150 schools across 9 districts in Tamil Nadu.
• Focusing on students between classes 6 to 10.

Backend research

The time span of this programme spreads across three years. As of now the programme is seven months old and has a total of 531 man-hours of effort that has gone in to the programme. Innumerable past experiences of EZ Vidya in training teachers on techno pedagogy is being used to train the AIF coordinators as well.
