Jean Piaget

Jean Piaget (1896 - 1980) was a Swiss philosopher, natural scientist and developmental psychologist, well known for his work studying children and his 'Theory of Cognitive Development'.

His 'Theory of Cognitive Development' has proved influential in many different areas like Development psychology, education, historical studies of thought and cognition, evolution of human intelligence and artificial intelligence (AI). During the 1970s and 1980s, based on his ideas and works, a 'child-centred' approach in education evolved particularly in Europe and America.Piaget served as professor of psychology at the University of Geneva from 1929 to 1975.
